CALM Meditation for Anxiety
This powerful practice is based on the internal family systems (IFS) model, with four stages, each following sequentially from the last. CALM is an acronym for Curiosity, Acceptance, Love and Mindfulness and combines breathwork, somatic healing, nervous-system regulation and parts work. This practice is focused on helping you with anxiety, but it will be helpful if you are feeling stressed, upset, angry, agitated, hurt or any other intense emotion. CALM will help you meet your anxious feelings with a curious, accepting attitude, rather than avoiding your feelings or trying to get rid of them in some way. You will be guided through speaking with your anxious inner child, before sending them love, warmth and compassion. This will help them, and you, feel calmer, safer and more at peace.
